Volunteers and Explainers Programme

People who make the difference

The success of ESOF2010 will also rely on the enthusiasm and commitment of its volunteers. Hospitality and voluntary engagement are a deeply rooted tradition in our city. During the 2006 Winter Olympic Games 20,000 volunteered, largely from Torino.

The ESOF2010 Volunteers Programme aims at involving national and international volunteers interested in science and willing to give their personal contribution in terms of logistic and technical support.
Volunteers may be asked to help in the following areas: speakers assistance, Science Shuttles, Career Programme, WebESOF, School Programme, Attendance, Media angels.

The Volunteers Programme include also the "Host a young Scientist!" initiative. If you live in Torino and your family wishes to offer accommodation to a young scientist attending ESOF2010, you could have the opportunity to have an exchange with a motivated member of the international scientific community. This could be especially fruitful if your children are taking study or career decisions.

The Explainers Programme is devoted to University students. Its goals include the full involvement of the next generation of scientists into ESOF2010. The Explainers will be asked to serve as guides in the Science and City Programme. The Explainers Programme is addressed mainly to Torino and its neighbourhood, but everybody is welcome!
