A lesson by a Nobel Prize to young people
In the morning of 9 March 2010, Sir Harold will meet over 1500 high school students coming from different cities in Piemonte. In the framework of the GiovedìScienza popular science events, he will talk about scientific careers. He’ll show that becoming a scientist and working in scientific research is the best way to make a contribution to humanity.
BUCKYBALL WORKSHOP
Primary school kids meet a great scientist
Thanks to the support of the Giovanni Agnelli Foundation, Sir Harold will entertain over 300 primary school students with his Buckyball workshop. This activity was designed by Kroto himself after the discovery of the C60 molecule, that secured him the Nobel Prize for Chemistry in 1996. The shape of these molecules, similar to football balls, gave him the idea for this workshop, a fascinating scientific game involving young pupils and their teachers. Players of the Juventus F.C. team will be present.
More details about the workshop and the conference are available only in italian.
