WebESOF is a unique way to stimulate the diffusion of science in a vast geographical area, focusing on the young and underprivileged. Thanks to a custom-made software platform, it is possible to:

Euroscience Open Forum, ESOF2010. Passion for Science, concluded with the surprising and almost sky-high handover from Turin to Dublin on the roof-top track of Lingotto, at the presence of the Mayor of Dublin and the Deputy Mayor of Turin. Over 4,300 participants were registered in the 7 days of the event, with more than 400 accredited journalists from all around the world and an estimated influx of 75,000 visitors involved in the extraordinary collective spectacular show of Science in the City which enlivened the city's nights during ESOF.
ESOF2010 also conquered the net with 25,000 visits in seven days, more than 400 tweets on Twitter, and the ESOF2010 group on Facebook had about 1,000 users. We also had more than 4,000 views of video on-demand of the sessions with the event just closed with the WebESOF project.

ESOF2012, the fourth edition of the Euroscience Open Forum, closed on 7 July 2010 with the Handover Ceremony between Torino – ESOF2010 – and Dublin.
At 14.15 on the roof-top track of Lingotto the Deputy Mayor of Torino, Tom De Alessandri, and the President of ESOF2010, Enrico Predazzi, made the symbolic handover respectively to the Mayor of Dublin, Gerry Breen, and to the President of ESOF2012 Patrick Cunningham.

ESOF2010 Call for Proposals was hugely successful: 403 projects were submitted, and organizers hailed from 35 different countries throughout the world. The Scientific Programme received 218 proposals, Science in the City (our outreach programme) had 88, the Career Programme 51 and the Science to Business Programme 46. More than 1000 researchers and experts have been contacted by organizers as potential speakers!

The ESOF2010 rose was presented during the Inaugural Ceremony of ESOF2010, on 2 July at the Giovanni Agnelli Auditorium of Lingotto.
The new cultivar was created by Antonio Marchese, the youngest son of a historical family of floriculturists of Sanremo: at the end of the 1970s he began to hybridise roses and his passion for research saw results in obtaining the varieties that were to become the first bricks in the basic genetic heritage. - (nessuna data)

During the Inaugural Ceremony of ESOF2010, on 2 July at the Giovanni Agnelli Auditorium of Lingotto, two small planets were named respectively “Torino”, a gift to the city that hosted the fourth edition of ESOF and to its long scientific tradition, and “Rita Levi Montalcini”, a homage to the Torino scientist, the winner of the Nobel Prize for Medicine.
